As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. And finding new ways to stay entertained is definitely a necessity right now!

So, if you’re pretty much burned out on Netflix and you’ve already cleaned out every closet you have, consider the below as some unique ways to stay entertained!

  • Livestream Concerts
Attending a concert might not be on the agenda again yet, but there are still plenty of concerts and live music performances you can watch from the safety of your couch, thanks to everyone from Miley Cyrus to the New York Metropolitan Opera and the fine folks at Disney. Find a fairly comprehensive guide to the best livestreamed music content right now on the Billboard Magazine Website.
  • Live Comedy
Who can’t use a few laughs about now, right?! Good news, Second City is live streaming a couple of their comedy programs: The Really Awesome Improv Show and Improv House Party. Check out the schedule at the Choose Chicago website.
  • Live Theater
Ok, theaters might still be closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t catch a play or spend time with your favorite Broadway stars. Find what famous stage stars and live events are on tap by visiting the Timeout New York website.
  • Murder Mysteries
Social isolation driving you a little stir crazy? Feel like committing a crime? Then you might be ready to virtually host a murder mystery party for your family and friends.  Red Herring Games stock a range of interactive, online murder mystery games perfect for Zoom, House Party, Google Hangouts or Facebook Messenger.
  • Drive-In Theaters
When was the last time you considered going to a Drive-In Theater to see a movie? Truth is, if you’re under the age of 40, there’s a decent chance you’ve never even been to a Drive-In! That might be about to change, with Drive-Ins quickly becoming the safe, isolated way to catch a movie on the really big screen. Here’s a link to Drive-In Movies.com to help you find a movie screen near you.

Sure, our options might be limited right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still find new ways to escape, unwind and enjoy. Stay well.
